Welcome to the PAC 2016 website! On behalf of the faculty, students, and staff of the Department of Communication & Rhetorical Studies, as well as the entire Syracuse University community, let us say just how delighted and honored we are to host the 15th Biennial Public Address Conference.
This beloved symposium has a long tradition and richly deserved reputation for bringing together many of discipline’s most talented and exciting established and emergent scholars to engage on a common theme of significance to rhetorical history. The theme for the 15th Biennial Public Address Conference is “The Conceit of Context.” That the conference unfolds exclusively in single plenary session makes the weekend of sustained conversation compelling and memorable, often staying with attendees long after the closing banquet.
On this website you will find logistical details about registration, lodging, and schedule. We also include information about the featured talks, the history of the Biennial Public Address Conference, as well as bios of this year’s participants, the keynote speaker, Carole Blair, and the conference honoree, Stephen Lucas. Plenary paper abstracts will also be forthcoming.
We hope you’ll join us September 29-October 1, 2016 at the Genesee Grande Hotel in Syracuse for the 15th Biennial Public Address Conference!
